Imagine if you could have your coffee or tea (just the way you like it!) ready the moment you wake up, and your air-conditioning switched on to just the right temperature before you return home from work. While such “smart” homes may seem rather futuristic, the truth is, such technology is already available in the market.

Not only has the Singapore government made smart homes a priority as part of its Smart Nation initiative, surveys have also shown a considerable demand for smart home solutions.

In a recent survey conducted by Keppel Land with over 250 people aged 25 to 40 years old in Singapore, more than 70% of the respondents prefer to have smart home features in their home.  The top three items on their wish list were smart security features including digital locks, smart automation and control of home fittings like lightings and air-conditioners, followed by energy monitoring systems, all of which are controllable via smartphones.

Convenience at your fingertips

In December 2015, Keppel Land introduced smart home solutions such as smart lighting and locks in its homes at The Luxurie, its condominium in Sengkang, as part of a pilot programme to create smart homes.

Continuing to lead the way in providing smart living solutions, it has implemented these solutions in its luxury waterfront development, Corals at Keppel Bay, complete with a fully integrated smart home management system called Habitap. The state-of-the-art system, which is the first of its kind in Asia, includes:

  • Smart Home Control

Residents at Corals at Keppel Bay will be able to use a specially-designed smartphone app to control their smart air-conditioners, door lock, as well as activate their water heater.

  • Smart Condominium Management

What’s more, you can also book condominium facilities through the app, invite your family and friends to events as well as set up e-visitor passes for them.

  • Smart Lifestyle Directory

The app also has a Smart Lifestyle directory where more smart home devices can be purchased and customised according to your needs – no more downloading multiple mobile apps!

You can also use the app to book restaurants, purchase items and arrange for groceries to be delivered right to your doorstep! Deliveroo, Chope and Grab are just a few of the many partners. With over 50 carefully curated products and services at hand and more top lifestyle brands expected to come aboard, convenience is now redefined.

Safe and secure homes

Habitap, a state-of-the-art system developed by Singapore technology firm Philip Tang & Sons, features top-notch security integrated with an internationally-renowned Swedish security system, Keypasco — a security system used by banks. The homes at Corals at Keppel Bay have door locks that send alerts in the smartphone app when they are opened or closed. Residents can also purchase motion sensors and integrate their alerts in the app.

“The progression of smart technology has dramatically transformed the way people live and their expectations of hassle-free living,” said Mr Franklin Tang, CEO of Philip Tang & Sons. “We are excited to be at the forefront of this technology with the launch of our smart home living solution for Corals at Keppel Bay.”

Putting your needs first

With smart technology in place, residents of Corals at Keppel Bay will be able to manage their homes easily and safely, even when they are at work or overseas. “The suite of products and services for residents was carefully curated to complement our modern lifestyles,” said Mr Tan Swee Yiow, President (Singapore) at Keppel Land.

With such thoughtful and innovative design, living in the condominium’s smart homes will be completely fuss-free. When it comes to your next home, make the smart choice, and choose a smart home.
