During the panel discussion on “Reducing Carbon Footprints” at the summit, Mr Joseph Low, President, Real Estate (Vietnam), Keppel Ltd., one of the panelists, shared Keppel’s initiatives which aim at reducing carbon emissions and promoting a circular economy.
Keppel’s Real Estate Division has adopted 6 of 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations which are most aligned with its business and material issues. To advance these goals, the company has set impactful targets and implemented various measures. One notable initiative is the Sustainable Urban Renewal strategy, which allows Keppel to create greener urban solutions by rejuvenating older buildings with green technology, and incorporating green design features when redeveloping existing buildings that require a major overhaul or rebuild.
Organised by Forbes Vietnam, the Sustainability Leaders Summit this year adopted the theme “The Green Growth Future”. It brought together over 300 participants, including experts and leaders from businesses leading the market to discuss current topics on low-carbon economies, climate change mitigation, and the path towards sustainable development.
