On 16 November, Vietnam Investment Review (VIR), an entity under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, hosted the Sustainable Development 2023 conference in Hanoi. The conference adopted the theme "Taking Responsibility, Taking Action", encompassing a diverse array of topics related to activities aimed at promoting sustainable development in Vietnam.

Mr Wong Wai Foo, Head, Sustainable Urban Renewal (Vietnam), Real Estate, Keppel Corporation, joined the first panel discussion of the conference to share Keppel’s low carbon, low energy strategy in urban developments. This includes the Sustainable Urban Renewal initiative (SUR) and the Company’s recommendations to enhance the sustainable development of Vietnam’s real estate market.

Keppel’s unique approach to SUR brings people, AI-driven technology and processes together to bolster the efficiency, sustainability performance and valuation of both new and aged commercial buildings.

Additionally, during the Sustainable Development 2023 conference, VIR held a recognition ceremony to honour domestic and foreign enterprises that have supported sustainable development and corporate social responsibility initiatives over the past five years. Among these recognised enterprises is Keppel, which has received acknowledgement for its endeavours in advancing sustainable development in Vietnam.

The Sustainable Development 2023 Conference was attended by leaders of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and about 240 regulators, economic experts, business leaders as well as representatives of foreign and domestic enterprises.
