Moving beyond the classroom, 20 students from Singapore Management University (SMU) spent a day of immersive learning as they explored Keppel’s operations and iconic developments in Ho Chi Minh City, including Saigon Centre and Sedona Suites.

The visit was part of SMU’s experiential learning programme, which offers students the opportunity to engage with leading enterprises in Vietnam and gain insights into how companies like Keppel create sustainable urban spaces while contributing to the development of modern Vietnamese cities.

Ms Trang Le, Vice President, Corporate Communications & CSR, Real Estate (Vietnam), Keppel Ltd., shared Keppel’s journey of more than three decades in Vietnam, including long-term vision, sustainable development strategies, and community engagement in its business approach.

The programme began with a presentation by Ms Trang Le, Vice President, Corporate Communications & CSR, Real Estate (Vietnam), Keppel Ltd., who shared Keppel’s journey of more than three decades in Vietnam – from its early ventures in real estate to its position today as a pioneer behind many landmark developments. Through her sharing, students learned how Keppel integrates long-term vision, sustainable development strategies, and community engagement in its business approach.

Mr Nguyen Tri Dung, Senior Vice President, Architectural, Technical Services, Vietnam, Real Estate, Keppel Ltd., elaborated on Keppel’s approach to sustainable urban planning, environmental design, placemaking, and heritage preservation.

Students also gained deeper insights into Keppel’s design philosophy and sustainable materials used throughout its project development process, through a presentation by Mr Nguyen Tri Dung, Senior Vice President, Architectural, Technical Services, Vietnam, Real Estate, Keppel Ltd.

Mr Tri Dung elaborated on Keppel’s approach to sustainable urban planning, environmental design, placemaking, and heritage preservation – highlighting exemplary cases such as Marina at Keppel Bay in Singapore and Hanoi Centre in Vietnam.

The students learned about the management and operations of the retail mall sector of Saigon Centre with Ms Tran Ngoc Dan Chi, Manager, Retail Operations, Real Estate (Vietnam), Keppel Ltd.

At Saigon Centre, Keppel’s flagship mixed-use development in Vietnam, Ms Tran Ngoc Dan Chi, Manager, Retail Operations, Real Estate (Vietnam), Keppel Ltd., guided the students through the “commercial heart” of the development.

The group learned about the management and operations of the retail mall sector of Saigon Centre – from tenant mix strategy and leasing to enhancing customer experience and maintaining high visitor engagement.

The visit continued at Sedona Suites, Keppel’s premier serviced residences, where students discovered another facet of Keppel’s ecosystem – hospitality. There, they learned how Keppel delivers premium living experiences while embedding sustainability into its daily operations and guest services.

Education is one of the three key focus areas in Keppel’s CSR efforts. Through educational site visits for both local and international students, Keppel continues to reaffirm its commitment to supporting education and inspiring the next generation of talents who will shape the future of global cities.
