On 2 June 2025, 90 high school students from Chung Cheng High School (Main) in Singapore presented their retail innovation ideas at Saigon Centre in Ho Chi Minh City. This marked the second visit by Chung Cheng students to Saigon Centre, Keppel’s flagship mixed-use development in Vietnam.
The presentation involved 10 student teams. The jury was composed of the principal and teachers from Chung Cheng High School, alongside representatives from Keppel and Saigon Centre, Ms Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Vice President, Retail Operations, Saigon Centre, and Ms Dinh Thi Anh My, Vice President, Retail Leasing, Saigon Centre as well as 3 members from Keppel Young Leaders. The activity was designed to help students gain a better understanding of how a shopping center operates in Vietnam, while developing their analytical, planning, presentation, and team-working skills.
The students began their proposals in Singapore in May 2025. Once in Ho Chi Minh City, they had a chance to tour and observe Saigon Centre’s operations in the morning. Later that afternoon, the teams presented their ideas to the jury.
“The students were well-prepared and confident, and their ideas were realistic and full of potential,” said Ms Nguyen Thi Thu Huong from Saigon Centre.
After the presentations, the jury announced the winners and presented awards to the best teams. Chung Cheng also presented a souvenir to Keppel as a gesture of appreciation for their support in organising the event.
This is not the first time Keppel has hosted international students for a visit and an educational experience at its properties. For many years, Keppel has been organising similar initiatives as a key part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) in education.
