Nearly 40 students from CHIJ St Nicholas Girls’ School (Singapore) recently visited Keppel’s office in Vietnam as part of their Bicultural Studies Programme (BSP). The visit marked the first time the school’s students had the opportunity to directly learn about Keppel’s business presence in Vietnam and gain insight into the operations of a foreign enterprise in the local market.

The session was designed to support the school’s objective of providing students with exposure to real-world business practices, particularly how multinational companies navigate opportunities and challenges in foreign markets. It also aimed to broaden students’ understanding of career possibilities in sectors such as real estate, urban development, and sustainability.

Over the course of 90 minutes, students attended two presentations delivered by senior leaders from Keppel in Vietnam. The first presentation, led by Ms Trang Le, Vice President of Corporate Communications and CSR, introduced Keppel’s history and its key areas of business in Vietnam. She also shared examples of how the company engages in corporate social responsibility, focusing on how it contributes to the communities in which it operates.

He outlined Keppel’s approach to sustainable urban development, including the company’s efforts in environmental planning, community-oriented placemaking, and heritage conservation. The session highlighted examples such as the preservation of elements in projects like Marina at Keppel Bay and Hanoi Centre.

Eunice Lee, a student, said, “One thing I found surprising from Keppel’s presentation is their strong commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR). Alongside their business, Keppel consistently makes an effort to give back to the community, whether through environmental initiatives or educational support for students. I was surprised to see how deeply integrated these values are in their operations, showing that success isn't just measured by profits, but also by the positive impact made on society.”

Education is one of the key areas of focus in Keppel’s corporate social responsibility framework. By hosting sessions like this, Keppel supports youth development and contributes to building awareness about sustainable development among the next generation.
