Redefining the office of the future
Ho Chi Minh City, 26 April 2023 – Keppel Land and Michael Page jointly organised ‘People, Place, Space. Redefined.’, an event on the latest post-pandemic workplace design trends and strategies for a purpose-driven future. It was held at Sedona Suites, Keppel Land’s premier serviced residence, in Ho Chi Minh City on 26 April 2023.
The event was attended by over 120 participants, including Mr Richard Tay, General Director of Saigon Centre, Keppel Land’s Grade A mixed-used development, Mr Nicolò Zanelli, Director of Michael Page Vietnam, Mr Simon Raper, Head of Workplace Consulting, APAC Cross-Border Tenant Advisory of Savills Singapore, Ms Tran Thu Hang, Chief Human Resources Officer of Sun Life Vietnam, as well as HR professionals, industry leaders and members of the media.
The event focused on the demand outlook for Asia-Pacific workplace and key emerging trends, such as a shift from individual spaces to collaborative and social spaces, a heightened focus on distinctive employee experience and wellness to boost culture and creativity, and a demand for sustainable office buildings. A panel discussion was also held to discuss best practices to enhance workplace attractiveness as well as ways to capture emerging opportunities.
Mr Richard Tay, General Director of Saigon Centre, said, “Recognising the fast-evolving workplace trends, Saigon Centre has sharpened our focus on customer centricity to cater to tenants’ changing needs. Our one-stop solution offerings include a host of amenities and services, serviced apartments, business suites, hotdesks, and WhatPod – an on-demand private workspace facility deployed in convenient locations across Ho Chi Minh City, to support the growing needs of today’s urbanites arising from the trend of flexible work arrangements.
“In addition, we are committed to fostering sustainable spaces and communities through proactive placemaking initiatives to co-create a vibrant workplace environment. We have organised impactful activities, such as the Blood Donation Drive and Earth Hour to keep our tenant community engaged. In the next phase of Saigon Centre, we will be adding another 102,000 sm of urban space comprising office, retail and hotel components, to provide a wider array of offerings for our tenants. Our efforts will position the Saigon Centre development as a top destination to live, work and play in Ho Chi Minh City.”
Mr Nicolò Zanelli, Director of Michael Page Vietnam, said, “Vietnam’s workplaces of today are characterised by a growing emphasis on flexibility, collaboration, and technology. Employees seek remote work options, flexible schedules, and a work-life balance that enables them to pursue personal and professional goals simultaneously. Companies that can offer these benefits are more likely to attract and retain top talent. Collaboration has become a critical element of workplace culture in Vietnam, and the ability to work in teams and share ideas effectively is highly valued. Embracing technology to ensure your top employees are constantly enabled to perform is crucial to stay competitive in the global marketplace.”
Saigon Centre is strategically located in District One, and comprises two Grade A office towers with 195 units of Sedona Suites luxury serviced apartments and a retail podium offering over 400 international and local brands including the leading Japanese department store, Takashimaya. It delivers leading real estate solutions, focusing on providing adaptive, sustainable approaches whilst creating a professional workplace for enterprises of all sizes and demands.
