Keppel renews support for Singapore Environment Council's School Green Awards with $270,000 commitment over three years

17 November 2025

Partnership will continue to nurture environmental stewardship and empower the next generation of sustainability leaders.

Keppel Ltd. (Keppel), through its philanthropic arm, Keppel Care Foundation, announced a renewed partnership with the Singapore Environment Council (SEC) to support the School Green Awards (SGA) for another three years, with a pledge of S$270,000. The renewed collaboration underscores Keppel’s long-term commitment to empowering youths and communities in driving sustainability and climate action.

The renewed partnership was announced with a cheque presentation at the 2025 School Green Awards Ceremony, held at HomeTeamNS @ Khatib. The event was graced by Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and Senior Minister of State for Education, Mr David Neo.

Now in its 24th year, the School Green Awards is one of Singapore’s most established environmental education programmes, engaging schools across all levels — from preschools to institutes of higher learning. In 2025, more than 300 schools participated, with student-led initiatives reaching over 1.1 million individuals through projects such as biodiversity-friendly gardens, food waste reduction, water conservation, and resource repurposing.

“We are deeply grateful to Keppel for their continued partnership and trust in our work. This renewed support allows the School Green Awards to grow even further and empower our young changemakers to take meaningful climate action within their schools and communities. Together with Keppel, we are nurturing the values of stewardship and innovation for generations to come,” said Ms Isabella Huang-Loh, Chairman, Singapore Environment Council.

“Creating a greener, more resilient future begins with education and awareness, especially among our youth. Through our renewed partnership with the Singapore Environment Council, we hope to inspire students to take ownership of environmental challenges and to develop creative, practical solutions that address environmental protection and climate action,” said Mr Ho Tong Yen, Chief Sustainability Officer, Keppel and CEO, Keppel Care Foundation.
