Keppel Corporation Limited has listed K-Green Trust (KGT) (佳绿信托), its “green” infrastructure focused business trust on the Main Board of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (SGX-ST) earlier today.
Officially launching K-Green Trust was the Chairman of Keppel Infrastructure Fund Management Pte Ltd (KIFM), Trustee-Manager of KGT, Mr Khor Poh Hwa. Other dignitaries gracing the event include Mr Magnus Bocker, CEO, Mr Gan Seow Ann, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Markets from the Singapore Exchange and other senior management of Keppel Corporation.
The investment objective of KGT is to invest in “green” infrastructure assets in Singapore and globally with a focus on Asia, Europe and the Middle East. KGT aims to provide long-term, regular and predictable distributions to its Unitholders.
KGT’s initial portfolio comprises Senoko Waste-to-Energy (WTE) Plant, Keppel Seghers Tuas WTE Plant and Keppel Seghers Ulu Pandan NEWater Plant. Senoko WTE Plant and Keppel Seghers Tuas WTE Plant, together, treat close to half of Singapore’s incinerable waste, while Keppel Seghers NEWater Plant is one of Singapore’s largest NEWater Plant.
Mr Thomas Pang, CEO of KIFM, said, “With growing awareness in environmental issues worldwide, there is greater demand for ‘green’ infrastructure assets. K-Green Trust is well-placed to capture these opportunities in the global drive towards sustainable development, therefore offering investors opportunities to participate directly in this growing market segment.”
The Sponsor of the Trust is Keppel Integrated Engineering Limited (KIE), the environmental engineering division of Keppel Corporation. The Trustee-Manager will leverage the synergistic business models of KGT and KIE, and the extensive “green” infrastructure expertise and wide network of KIE for growth.
KGT commenced trading on the Main Board of the SGX-ST at $1.17, with intra-high of $1.33. Trading volume for KGT stood at 33,633,000 and closed at $1.11 at end of trading day.
